The Gramophone magazine, 5 miscellaneous issues from September 1938, August 1940, November 1940, January 1941, March 1941. Fascinating look at the world of British recorded music from pre-war through the Battle of Britain and the Blitz. Pre-war issue has ads for early TV sets (the BBC began regularly scheduled TV broadcasts from studios in Alexandra Palace, north London, in 1936); later issues have revealing comments about the effects of the war. Completely intact and unmarked; two issues have former owner’s address [in Reading, PA] stamped in upper right corner.
