Canadian Artists & Pressings a Specialty

Welcome to Barry’s Discs!

Based in River Hebert, Nova Scotia, Canada, boyhood home of country music star Wilf Carter (also known as “Montana Slim”), I have a great collection of Canadian, U.S., and British recordings — LPs, 45s, 78s, and a few tape cassettes — from the golden era and maybe a little beyond, for sale at reasonable prices.

Also, please check out my paper collectibles for a few oddball and interesting items, including some Beatles memorabilia.

All pressings are original unless otherwise noted.

All prices are in Canadian dollars.

I am open to offers on the higher-priced items.

All photos are of the actual items for sale; they are not stock photos.

My grading policy

All discs are graded visually and conservatively according to the following rough scale:

NM: near mint, record appears never to have been played or perhaps only a couple of times; no scuffs, scratches or other marks, no spindle tracks around the centre hole; cover looks fresh from the record rack.

VG+: disc has been lightly handled and well cared for, perhaps a few minor scuffs and a light surface scratch or two, some spindle tracks around the centre hole; cover clean and undamaged on all sides, though showing minor signs of use, perhaps some fading or discoloration from the light.

VG: disc has a few scuffs and minor scratches not affecting play; cover shows obvious signs of handling, scuffing, and perhaps some ring wear, but any damage is minor (e.g. a creased corner).

G+: disc is a bit beat up and has some surface noise, obviously played quite a few times and lots of surface scratches, but no damage that affects play or detracts unduly from enjoying the music; cover may have a split (size specified) or be worn through along one or more edge.

G or worse: few of the records I sell are in such condition; in most cases, the disc or cover is unusual or comparatively rare in any shape.

Any particular marks or damage will be noted in the product description.

If possible, 45 and 78 rpm singles come with an original-type sleeve; details of picture sleeves and unusual or uncommon sleeves are noted in the product description.

How to order

To place an order, please e-mail your requests to, quoting the item #. I will contact you regarding availability and price (including postage & handling).

How to pay

I accept PayPal or a Canadian postal money order in Canadian funds.

I will ship within 2–3 business days of receipt of payment.

Postage & handling

Because of the many varied shipping rates depending on the size, weight, destination of the package, and delivery time, I will advise you about postage and handling costs when I receive your request. I will charge you exactly what Canada Post charges me.

All items are shipped well protected in cardboard mailers made specially for records. LPs are shipped outside their covers to prevent cover damage in transit. Despite my best efforts, an item (especially a fragile 78) might arrive damaged or broken, for which I cannot be held responsible. However, I have shipped all over the world with a 100% success rate so far — nothing broken, no unhappy customers (fingers crossed). Insurance may be available on request, depending on the shipping option you choose.

U.S. and International buyers are responsible for any import duties, taxes, and fees that may be assessed by the country of destination. To avoid any misunderstanding, I declare the exact purchase price as the value of the item(s) when completing the customs declaration. I do not check the “gift” box or underdeclare the value.
